1.What Does the Testing Process Involve?
The length and structure of a neuropsychological evaluation can vary based on age and the type of concerns being assessed. A comprehensive evaluation typically includes 6–8 hours of in-person testing.
For children: Testing is usually divided into several shorter sessions (about 2-3 hours each) to keep them comfortable and engaged.
For teens and adults: Sessions may be longer so the full evaluation can be completed in fewer appointments. We will work with you to determine the session length and schedule that best fits your needs.
From the initial appointment to the final feedback session, the full evaluation process generally takes about eight weeks. You will receive a comprehensive written report after the feedback session with the doctor.
2.When Will I Receive My Results and Final Report?
A feedback session—held either in person or via telehealth—is typically scheduled 2–4 weeks after your final testing session. In some cases, depending on availability, feedback may be offered sooner.
You will receive your finalized written report after the feedback session, usually within 4 weeks.
Please note: reports are released once all evaluation fees have been paid in full.
3.Do I need a referral to schedule an evaluation?
No! Referrals can come from a physician or treatment provider, but you can also seek an evaluation on your own without a referral required.
4. Do you accept insurance?
No, all evaluations are self-pay. However, you may request a superbill to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement following the conclusion of the evaluation.
5. Are you available to participate in IEP meetings/reviews?
While this will eventually be a service offered, due to scheduling conflicts I am not able to do so at this time. However, this service is expected to be available in September 2026. Please note that an additional fee will apply for this service. Additionally, referrals for a school or peer advocate can be requested in lieu of the neuropsychologist.
6. How Do I Schedule a Neuropsychological Evaluation?
To schedule an evaluation, please contact our office and let us know you are interested in neuropsychological testing. During the call, we will complete a brief intake screening to understand your concerns, discuss the reason for referral, and schedule your full clinical interview.
To get started, please call: 516-280-7285
7. What documentation do I need to provide?
The neuropsychologist may request additional documentation at the clinical interview, to be brought to the testing session or sent prior to. All patients will be required to complete a patient history form, to be sent to the office prior to the testing session. Some examples of additional documents that may be requested include: IEP/504 behavioral plan, in school academic evaluation, recent report card, a prior neuropsychological evaluation or psychological evaluation, recent medical records (i.e., recent lab work/physical, neuroimaging, neurology records, psychology records), teacher and parent questionnaires etc.
8. What Populations are Served?
I am a lifespan-focused neuropsychologist, providing evaluations for children, adolescents, adults, and older adults—currently ages 6 through 90+. Patients come from diverse cultural and demographic backgrounds and may have complex medical, psychiatric, or neurological histories.
Please note that evaluations are conducted in English, and translation services are not available at this time. Individuals whose primary language is not English may be referred to a neuropsychologist who can provide testing in their native language.
