Hi! I’m Dr. Emily Errera, a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in the field of neuropsychology. I am currently completing the second year of my post-doctoral neuropsychology fellowship at Stony Brook University Medical Center. I provide neuropsychological assessment for individuals across the lifespan and psychotherapy services for adults.
Before earning my doctorate in clinical psychology, I spent 10 years practicing as a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC), supporting individuals, couples, and families in a variety of settings, including university counseling centers, hospital programs,
community mental health, and substance-use treatment. I have continued this work with J. Corea Counseling since 2017.
I completed my PsyD at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology (APA-accredited), along with specialized neuropsychology training at Rush Neurobehavioral Center, Stony Brook University Medical Center, and the Northport VA Medical Center.
My dissertation, defended with distinction, examined women’s body image during the COVID-19 pandemic.
As I finalize my two-year neuropsychology fellowship, I am licensed in New York State and on track to pursue board certification in clinical neuropsychology (ABPP-CN) upon completion in 2025.
My neuropsychology training has been guided by board-certified and board-eligible neuropsychologists across Chicago and New York. I have extensive experience providing neuropsychological evaluations for children, teens, adults, and older adults in both outpatient and inpatient medical settings.
I completed pre-doctoral neuropsychology externships at Rush Neurobehavioral Center and Stony Brook University Medical Center, where I assessed a wide range of conditions—including autism, ADHD, learning disorders, epilepsy, movement disorders, traumatic brain injury, stroke, dementia, and other neurological, medical, and psychiatric
concerns. At Stony Brook, I evaluated patients across the lifespan and worked with highly complex cases referred from multiple specialties throughout the hospital.
During my APA-accredited pre-doctoral internship at the Northport Veterans Affairs Medical Center, I conducted comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations for veterans with diverse medical, neurological, and psychiatric presentations.
I am currently completing a two-year post-doctoral fellowship in neuropsychology at Stony Brook University Medical Center. In this role, I provide outpatient assessments, participate in specialized inpatient evaluations, present clinical cases, teach didactic
seminars, and continue advanced training in neurodegenerative, neurological, and neurodevelopmental conditions.
Upon finishing my fellowship in August 2025, I will be eligible for board certification in clinical neuropsychology (ABPP-CN). I plan to continue offering comprehensive neuropsychological assessments for clients across the lifespan.
