About our Founder Dr. Emily Errera, NYS Licensed Clinical Psychologist, Clinical Neuropsychologist

Dr. Emily Errera, a Clinical Neuropsychologist and a New York State licensed Clinical Psychologist, provides neuropsychological assessments for individuals across the lifespan.

My neuropsychology training has been guided by board-certified and board-eligible neuropsychologists across Chicago and New York. I have extensive experience providing neuropsychological evaluations for children, adolescents, adults, and older adults in both outpatient and inpatient medical settings.

I completed pre-doctoral neuropsychology externships at Rush Neurobehavioral Center and Stony Brook University Medical Center, where I assessed a wide range of neurodevelopmental, neurodegenerative and neuropsychiatric conditions, including but not limited to ADHD, learning disorders, epilepsy, Alzheimer’s Disease, Parkinson’s Disease, Huntington’s Disease, Progressive Supranuclear Palsy, Primary Progressive Aphasia, Frontotemporal Dementia, traumatic brain injury, and stroke. At Stony Brook, I evaluated patients across the lifespan and worked with highly medically and neurologically complex cases referred from multiple specialties throughout the hospital.

During my APA-accredited pre-doctoral internship at the Northport Veterans Affairs Medical Center, I conducted comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations for Veterans with diverse medical, neurological, and psychiatric presentations. I completed my two year postdoctoral fellowship in neuropsychology at Stony Brook University Medical Center.

I am on track to pursue board certification in clinical neuropsychology (ABPP-CN).

Fun facts about me:

  • Curling up on the couch with a cup of coffee and a good book is my favorite pastime
  • I am the proud mother of both my young daughter and my rescue dog
  • I recently learned how to play the game Mah Jongg and I love it!
  • I consider the beach my happy place
  • I am an avid traveler

Neuropsychological Evaluations

A neuropsychological evaluation does not involve needles, scans, or medical procedures. Instead, it includes:

  • Standardized cognitive tests (often presented like puzzles or games)
  • A comprehensive clinical interview covering medical, developmental, academic, and social history
  • Review of relevant records to provide a full picture of current functioning

Neuropsychologists are experts in identifying cognitive changes—whether sudden or gradual—and helping determine why these changes occur. They provide clear diagnostic impressions and personalized recommendations to improve daily functioning and quality of life.
